Our History
FASNY Federal Credit Union, founded in 2003, offers personal and business banking services to members of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY), National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), and Ladies Auxiliary of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (LAFASNY). In addition to the members themselves, services are extended to their spouses and immediate family, as well as employees of this credit union and volunteers.
FASNY Federal Credit Union rises above competitors in the market as a direct result of the fundamental business structure that drives decision making and performance. Through functioning as a cooperative, owned and operated by its members, decision making is primarily focused on helping people and making a positive difference in the lives of fellow members. It’s not about profit, but about a strong dedication to bringing like-minded people together to make a difference in the lives of others. Every member of the credit union has an equal say in how the credit union operates by casting a vote to elect the volunteer Board of Directors at the Annual Membership Meeting. At FASNY FCU, there is no division of profits based upon select shareholder groups; rather, all members profit equally regardless of status or position.

Members have access to the highest level of personal financial services, focused around encouraging savings and responsible use of credit while increasing the ability of members to manage and control their financial well-being. Additionally, FASNY FCU is dedicated to sound financial management to maintain earnings for continued growth, as well as providing employees with a challenging and rewarding career.
