Job Seekers Should Find Good Prospects in 2016

A new report finds that the picture has brightened for job seekers in recent months, and should continue to be favorable this year.

The report, from CareerCast.com, points out that unemployment claims have been below 300,000 for 50 straight weeks – longer than at any time since the early 1970s.

This signals healthy job growth.

At the same time, the pace at which the Baby Boom generation is retiring will only accelerate in the years ahead. The oldest Baby Boomers are entering their 70s this year, while the youngest are all in their 50s.

This means turnover in jobs, and more opportunities for Millennials.

CareerCast.com – citing U.S. Census data – estimates that roughly 40% of America’s unemployed are from the millennial generation.
