Annual Meeting Notice

As the FASNY Federal Credit Union Board Acting Secretary, I am pleased to announce the 2010 Annual Membership Meeting and Elections for Wednesday, August 18, 2010, to coincide with the FASNY Annual Convention. The meeting will be held at 8:15AM at the Hyatt Regency Wind Watch 1717 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, New York. Additionally, our 2009 Annual Report is available by contacting John Tucker at 866-327-6928 or sending a written request to FASNY Federal Credit Union 107 Washington Avenue Albany New York 12210.

The Nominating Committee, consisting of Mr. K. William (Bill) Grant as Chairman, Mr. Roy K. Dahlen, and Mr. Edward M. Cooke, has recommended Mr. James H. Williams, Mr. Joseph A. Finnegan, Mr. Andrew E. Pilecki, and Ms. June L. Gunza for election to the four (4) vacant Board of Directors’ positions. Each individual will be elected to serve a two (2) year term on the Board of Directors of the FASNY Federal Credit Union.

In accordance with the By-Laws of the FASNY Federal Credit Union, nominations may also be made by petition signed by 1% of the Credit Union members with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 500 signatures. Each nominee by petition must submit a statement of qualifications and biographical data with the petition. Each nomination by petition must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee or nominees stating they are agreeable to the nomination and will serve if elected to office. All nominations by petition must be filed with the Credit Union Secretary no later than July 30, 2010, which shall be the closing date for receiving nominations by petition. When there is only one nominee for each position to be filled, the election to fill vacant Board of Directors’ positions will not be conducted by ballot, and there will be no nominations from the floor. Nominations by petition may be forwarded to Mr. John P. Tucker, President, FASNY Federal Credit Union 107 Washington Avenue Albany, New York 12210.

Nominees:

James H. Williams, Norwich, NY 13815, Board Member since organization.  

Mr. Williams has served as Credit Union Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors since its origination on March 28, 2003. Mr. Williams is a Past President of The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York. He is retired from the Norwich School District where he served as the School Business Administrator. Mr. Williams joined the volunteer fire service in 1959 and is currently a member of the Norwich Fire Department.

Joseph A. Finnegan, Madrid, NY 13815, Board Member since organization.

Mr. Finnegan has served as Credit Union Vice-Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors since its origination on March 28, 2003. Mr. Finnegan is a Past President of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York. He is retired from National Grid F/K/A Niagara Mohawk Power Company. Mr. Finnegan is an active member of the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department.

Andrew E. Pilecki, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, Board Member since August 16, 2005.

Mr. Pilecki joined the Credit Union Board in August 2005 Mr. Pilecki was appointed Acting Secretary of the Board in April 2010. Mr. Pilecki has been previously employed in banking and financial services industry. Mr. Pilecki has served in Medical Office Management for a number of years and is currently the Office Manager for a Dental Office. He is a graduate of Canisius College with a BS degree in Management. Andy is a Past President of the Western New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association and a member of the Columbia Hook & Ladder Fire Company and 3rd. Assistant Chief of the of the Wendelville Fire Department.

June L. Gunza, Highland Falls, NY 12534, Board Member since April 20, 2007.

Ms. Gunza joined the Credit Union Board in April 2007. Ms. Gunza is retired from the Village of Highland Falls where she served as the Village Clerk. She is a member and treasurer of the Orange County Volunteer Firemen’s Association and a member and treasurer of the Highland Falls Fire Department. June is a past director of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association and remains an active member of the Highland Falls Fire Department.
